Celebrity's Relative

The Resume

    (October 31, 1948-October 4, 1969)
Born in Los Angeles County, California
    Youngest child of Art Linkletter
Co-hosted episodes of her father's show 'House Party'
With her father, recorded 'We Love You, Call Collect'
Jumped from a sixth-floor apartment window

Why she might be annoying:

Although Art Linkletter blamed her death on LSD, the autopsy indicated that there were no drugs in her system.
Ever since her death, a person doing LSD and then jumping to their death while trying to fly has been a staple of anti-drug 'educational' films.
She was described as despondent over her career and identity and complained that she 'could not be her own person.'
'Rolling Stone' reported her death under the headline 'Kids Do The Darndest Things.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She won a posthumous Grammy for Best Spoken Word Recording for 'We Love You, Call Collect.'
She was portrayed by Divine in an early John Waters film.
A Philadelphia band named itself the Diane Linkletter Experience.
