    His full name is actually William Andrew Michael Junior Nylander Altelius.

    He is the son of former NHL forward Michael Nylander, and was born in Calgary when his father played for the Flames.
    He holds both Canadian and Swedish citizenship and elected to play for Sweden in international competition.
    He had the opportunity to play alongside his father with Södertälje SK (2013).
    He elevated his game with the Leafs, under the tutelage of Sheldon Keefe.
    He was considered one of the cornerstone pieces in the Leafs rebuild during the late 2010's.
