Portrayed Colonel Wilhelm Klink on 'Hogan's Heroes' (1965-1971)

Why he might be annoying:

He was married three times.
He and his father, orchestra conductor Otto Klemperer, fled Nazi Germany in the 1930's. Ironically, he later played Luftwaffe Colonel Wilhelm Klink on 'Hogan's Heroes.'
He played a Nazi on TV even though he was a Jew.
He played German stereotypes in most of his movies.

Why he might not be annoying:

He died of cancer.
Although he was a German, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Klemperer only agreed to do 'Hogan's Heroes' if the producers promised never to have Colonel Klink succeed in any of his schemes.
He was an accomplished concert violinist.
The role of Klink earned Klemperer four Emmy nominations, winning the award two times in 1968 and 1969.
He is called 'everyone's favorite TV Colonel.'
