Why he might be annoying:

Most of his (QM!) productions used transitional effects to go into and come out of commercial breaks.
Critics accused his programming – almost entirely about law and law enforcement – of pandering to right-wing agendas.
As a testimony to his ego, his license plates read QM1 and QM2.
Married twice, his second wife was a flight attendant nicknamed Muffet (Marianne Webb).
His first wife, a head writer for I Love Lucy, learned early on what saying ‘no’ to him meant.

Why he might not be annoying:

His favorite color was red.
His productions usually had voiceovers announcing the names of the cast and guest cast.
His well-defined approach to employment earned him the nickname ‘Big Daddy.’
Despite that nickname, he was an anomaly among producers, not using hip or beatnik dialogue.
Other producers believed in cutting costs by simulating nighttime footage; his material was shot outdoors in actual darkness.
He was an accomplished equestrian.
His limousine rides to the racetrack allowed him to pore over scripts and other business issues.
He had at least one primetime program on the air over a string of 21 seasons.
