Baseball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He had a nomadic childhood, due to his father’s career as a chaplain for the United States Navy.
He was drafted three times in the MLB Draft in a four year window.
He once said you miss the point of everything in life if you don’t have fun in baseball.
His acquisition by the Yankees initially wasn't well received by the team's fanbase.
He was traded from the Yankees to the Toronto Blue Jays, but never played a game for them as he was flipped to the Braves later in the off-season (1979-80).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was considered a reliable clutch hitter during his career.
His trade to the Yankees was considered beneficial to the team, as he was an integral part of the team's success in the 1970's.
He was a member of six Yankee World Series championship teams (two as a player, four as a coach).
He hit the series winning walk-off home run in Game 5 of the 1976 ALCS.
Due to the flash mob that stormed the field following his walk-off home run, Major League Baseball implemented a rule that states a run can be granted by an umpire if the field is impassable for a player to run the bases.
