Why they might be annoying:

Their original grandstands were burnt down by suffragettes, forcing the team to move across the Thames to Highbury (1913).
They were frequently criticized for a boring, defense-oriented style of play, especially during the 1970s and 1980s.
Manager George Graham was fined for accepting kickbacks from sports agents to sign certain players (1995).
It was to have been a founding member of the proposed European Super League, but quickly withdrew in the face of opposition from fans, other clubs, FIFA, and politicians (2021).

Why they might not be annoying:

It was the first football club in London to turn professional (1891).
An exhibition game between Arsenal's first team and their reserves was the first ever football match televised live (September 16, 1937).
The club established the Arsenal Charitable Trust (1992), which has raised over £2 million for local projects.
