    Died at the age of 24, following injuries sustained after he was hit in the chest by a malfunctioning firework

Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname was 'Kivi.'
    He was primarily used as a third string goalie in Columbus.
    Similar to Jason Pierre-Paul among others, he was another professional athlete involved in a dangerous incident with fireworks.
    It was speculated the incident and his eventual death took place at the home of the Jackets goaltending coach, Manny Legace.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He moved to North America at a young age, with the hopes of making it to the NHL.
    He signed with the Blue Jackets as an undrafted free agent, which established the team's trend of developing predominately European goaltenders.
    He was described as being a compassionate young man by former teammates and front office staff.
    He was rumoured to be a potential target for the Seattle Kraken in their expansion draft at the time of his death.
    He backstopped Latvia to their first victory over Canada in a IIHF World Championship game, in what would be one of his last games in his career.
    He, along with some friends were setting fireworks off in a hot tub, when one malfunctioned.
