She’s less known for her legal accomplishments – still not paper-thin – than for whom she hooked up with.
Selected by the United Nations for the three-member commission to address rule violations in the Israel-Gaza conflict (2014), she turned it down on grounds that the investigation was not independent.
More than one message board expressed suspicion that she was only considered for matrimony because, in her mid-30s, she was at the age where she could still be a baby factory.

Why she might not be annoying:

She speaks English, French, and, of course, Arabic.
Among the numerous UN commissions to which she’s been appointed? Adviser to Special Envoy Kofi Annan.
Not that her red-carpet features have gone unnoticed; one legal blog dubbed her the Hottest Barrister in London (‘not the kind of little Cinderella who’s being plucked from obscurity and given a great life,’ it went on).
Clooney's stance on social media apparently rubbed off on her; she deleted her own Twitter account.
