Why he might be annoying:

    His first stint as President of the King Center ended after only a few months following a dispute with his mother, Coretta Scott King.
    He is a vegan and animal rights activist.
    He was criticized for commercially exploiting his father's legacy, such as letting footage of his 'I have a dream' speech be used in a TV ad for an electronics company.
    He was sued by his siblings for allegedly taking funds improperly from the estates of his parents (2008).
    He sued his siblings, demanding that they hand over letters and photos of Coretta Scott King, saying they were needed for a $1.4 million book deal (2008).
    David J. Garrow, author of a Pulitzer-winning bio of Dr. King, said of the squabbling, 'Unfortunately all of the children seem to regard their father’s legacy as first and foremost an income maximization opportunity for themselves.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    When he was seven, his father was assassinated.
    He was named one of People magazine's '50 Most Beautiful People' (1995).
    He noted, 'Hopefully the beauty part is interpreted as being internal as well.'
    Lisa Lisa said, 'He is a big, beautiful man. I felt like I could get lost in all that, that he could cradle me.'
