    Wom two French Opens (1961,1966) and one Wimbledon (1969)
    In women’s doubles, won three French Opens (1963,1968-69)
    In mixed doubles, won an Australian Open (1969) and Wimbledon (1969)
    Inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (1985)
    Named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (2014)

Why she might be annoying:

    After losing to Billie Jean King at both Wimbledon and the US Open (1967), she said, ‘I should have beaten her. I soon realized Billie Jean wasn’t any better than I was – I had to stand up to her physically and mentally.‘
    When she did win Wimbledon, she decided not to defend her title as she was cutting back on her schedule to start a family. (‘I don’t think the Wimbledon organizers were pleased.’)
    Her husband, Philip ‘Pip’ Jones, was five years older than her father.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She was also successful in table tennis, having been a member of the women’s team that won the European Championship (1958).
    She was the first left-handed woman to win Wimbledon.
    The Beatles paused one of their recording sessions to listen to the radio coverage of Jones’ Wimbledon victory.
    She was the first person who was not a member of the royal family to present a trophy at Wimbledon, when she awarded the winners of the mixed doubles tournament their cup (2007).
