Why he might be annoying:

He believes NASA is a waste of money.
He achieved most of his major political offices by appointment, not election.
He is a far-left liberal who has supported nuclear demobilization, tax increases, a greatly expanded welfare system and a weakened CIA.
He tried to make a comeback in the Senate in 2002 after the death of Paul Wellstone, but lost.
When it was revealed that his net worth was only $77,000, he said: 'I want to be vice president because I need the money.'
He said he would raise taxes in 1984, a step which many historians believe torpedoed his presidential campaign.
