Why One Tree Hill might be annoying:

There are no black characters on the show.
Along with rival series 'The O.C.,' it helped to revive the teen soap opera.
Many of the cast members were well into their 20s despite portraying teenagers on the series.
Brothers Lucas and Nathan were enemies at the start of the series.
The series was originally conceived to be a feature film.
The second season dealt with a story arc involving a love triangle among Felix, Brooke, and Mouth.
When cast members Murray and Burton left the series, many felt the series was like 'Seinfeld' without Seinfeld...or Elaine.'
The series had several 'time jumps', notably between seasons four and five.
The episodes' titles are song titles.

Why One Tree Hill might not be annoying:

The title of the series was derived from a U2 song.
The show's theme 'I Don't Want to Be' was performed by Gavin DeGraw.
It launched the careers of many actors and actresses.
As the series progressed, Lucas and Nathan reconciled with one another.
