The Resume

    (January 20, 1996-November 18, 1996)
    TV western starring Robert Urich
Plot: A badly tortured amnesiac digs himself out a of a shallow grave and searches for his identity in the Old West.
First high quality show to be simultaneously released on cable and in syndication
    Filmed entirely in New Mexico

Why The Lazarus Man might be annoying:

Although it performed well enough in the ratings to be renewed for a second season; the producers cancelled in when they found out Urich had cancer leading to a lawsuit.
The story behind Urich's character and how he came to be in the grave was a convoluted mess.
    It ended on a cliffhanger.
Some of the guest characters were one dimensional western stereotypes.
The pilot has been released as a two hour movie on DVD deceptively referring to it as a movie that inspired the series. See profile picture.

Why The Lazarus Man might not be annoying:

Urich's performance was excellent and possibly the best of his career.
The action scenes were superbly done and most importantly not over done.
The writing was just great and very original.
The producers did a fantastic job of getting period details correct.
The individual episodes had really cool titles like; Palace of Dreams, Panorama, and Quality of the Enemy.
There were a lot of great guest stars including; Tobin Bell, Armin Shimerman, Alicia Coppola, and Robert Foxworth.
