The Resume

    (July 18, 1958- )
    Born in Seattle, Washington
    Independent soul and gospel singer.
Recorded the albums 'BlueZ in the Key of Me (2010),' 'How Did I Get Here (2013),' 'Loved, Blessed and Blues (2016),' 'Doin' Fine (2018)' and 'Lady A: Live in New Orleans (2020)'

Why she might be annoying:

She wasn't known in the mainstream media prior to 2020.
Her recognition was a result of a name conflict with the country music group, who shortened their name from Lady Antebellum to Lady A.
She came off as being a brat in regards to the band using the Lady A moniker, which was in contrast to her initial positive reaction to their name change.
She went as far as suing the band over the use of Lady A, and lost.
She never recorded an album on a major record label.

Why she might not be annoying:

She primarily performed in the Pacific Northwest and Mississippi Delta regions.
Her music style was described as being soulful.
She is an advocate for social justice, which reflects in her later music.
She had a lot of guts to call out the Lady A band members Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, citing their ignorance to the civil rights movement, when they originally chose 'Antebellum' as part of their band name.
She stuck to her principles and refused to concede to the group's demands to gain full control of the Lady A moniker, citing their contract to share it was insulting, feeling it was an attempt to erase her from the music industry.
