Why he might be annoying:

He was a wooden actor.
He was allegedly named Zeppo because he was born the day the Zeppelin landed in New Jersey, but he was really stuck with it so that people wouldn't confuse him for Gummo.
He was forced to go into the family Vaudeville act when brother Gummo joined the army.
He hated his role in the act, and gave up performing when the team went from Paramount to MGM.
He was resentful at his second rate status in the act, and turned into a bitter overachiever when he became an agent.

Why he might not be annoying:

He took over on a few performances of the Broadway musical 'Animal Crackers' when Groucho fell ill. He did such a good impersonation that no one noticed.
He formed a successful talent agency.
He was a skilled inventor who held many patents.
