Why she might be annoying:

She wrote articles for the literal fake news site The Onion.
When asked in 2004 'Who asks the best questions: Tomás de Torquemada, the Riddler, or Tim Russert?' she answered 'Tim Russert. I heart Tim Russert.'
In 2006, The Smoking Gun cited her James Frey interview in its report 'A Million Little Lies,' which later led to his getting his ass kicked on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
She got so tired of people telling her that she resembled Sarah Palin that she created a Facebook group called 'Women Who Kind of Look Like Sarah Palin Against Sarah Palin.' It had nearly thirty members.
Actually, she more closely resembles 'White Fragility' author Robin DiAngelo except with purple highlights in her brown hair.

Why she might not be annoying:

She started out as an intern at Dateline NBC.
She is a 2001 graduate of Georgetown University and the Northwestern University Creative Writing Masters program.
Her book 'An Off Year' was selected by Indie Booksellers for the Autumn 2009 Kids' Indie Next List and cited as one of the ALA's 2010 Best Books for Young Adults.
She claims that the book, based loosely on her own experiences, took over 10 years to write.
She has listed her favorite interviewees to be Neal Pollack, E. Jean Carroll, and Antonia Fraser.
She produces the Chicago literary humor reading series Funny Ha-Ha, which describes itself as 'The Best Reading in Chicago. Ever.'
Chicago Magazine has rated the series one of the 10 best literary salons in Chicago.
Her work has also appeared in The Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Jezebel, and McSweeney's Internet Tendency.
