    Head coach for the Harvard men's basketball team (1973-77) and the Boston Celtics (1978)

    He earned the nickname 'Satch' growing up, which stuck for the rest of his life.
    He didn't take up basketball until the age of 12.
    He initially had no desire to play for the Celtics, upon being drafted by the team.
    His career was overshadowed by the likes of both Bill Russell and Bob Cousy's.
    He posted a career losing record as a head coach in both the NCAA and NBA ranks.
