U.S. Governor

The Resume

    (January 9, 1967- )
    Born in Denver, Colorado
President of Bevin Brothers Manufacturing Company (2011- )
Governor of Kentucky (sworn in December 8, 2015)
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

While campaigning for the Republican nomination for Senator against Mitch McConnell, he spoke at a pro-cockfighting rally (April 2, 2014).
He claimed to have been unaware of the purpose of the rally, adding, 'I was the first person to speak, and then I left'; video taken at the event showed that he was the third speaker, and the speaker immediately before announced that the rally was for 'the sole purpose of legalizing gamecock fighting.'
After it was reported that he had been late at least ten times in paying property taxes on his vacation homes in Maine and Louisiana, he said, 'You do this in business all the time.'
He scoffed at calls for greater gun control after Stephen Paddock set a new record for deadliest shooting in the US by noting, 'You can't regulate evil.'
After the Parkland school shooting, he decided that some evils could be regulated and called for a crackdown on... violent video games.
When Kentucky teachers walked out to stage a rally at the state capitol for increased education funding, he told reporters, 'I guarantee you somewhere in Kentucky today, a child was sexually assaulted that was left home because there was nobody there to watch them,' earning a rebuke from the Republican-controlled state legislature.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is fluent in Japanese, having studied abroad during college.
He and his wife adopted four children from Ethiopia.
His oldest child, Brittiney, was killed in a car accident at age 17 (2003).
In memory of their daughter, he and his wife created Brittiney's Wish, a non-profit to fund domestic and international mission trips for high school students.
He delayed moving his family into the governor's mansion to avoid disrupting his kids' school year.
