Why he might be annoying:

    His third wife was 35 years his junior and was younger than his oldest daughter.
    On the eve of the Six Day War, he delivered a radio address to the nation (May 28, 1967) that failed to inspire confidence, partly because he noticeably stammered during it.
    The government overruled his wishes to be buried on his kibbutz and had him buried in Jerusalem instead.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He served in the Jewish Legion of the British army during World War I.
    As director of the Mekorot water company, he oversaw the construction of hundreds of miles of pipelines for irrigation.
    He was the first Israeli Prime Minister invited to make an official state visit to the United States (1964).
    He modernized the Israeli armed force with American equipment, contributing to Israel's rapid defeat of its neighbors in the Six Day War.
