Defenseman for the Buffalo Sabres (1991-93), Chicago Blackhawks (1993-98), Phoenix Coyotes (1998-2001), Anaheim Mighty Ducks (2001-06), Vancouver Canucks (2006) and the Minnesota Wild (2006-08)

He opted to forego his senior year at the University of Maine to sign with the Sabres.
He played for six different teams.
He sported a mullet early in his career.
He was erroneously listed as being the brother of NFL kicker John Carney.
He came out of retirement to play for Swiss hockey club SC Bern in 2008.
