Why he might be annoying:

He was typecast as villains.
His career began fading as his brother's took off, with Wallace becoming MGM's highest-paid star while he ended up working for poverty row studios Republic and Monogram.
He died in his brother's arms on his brother's birthday. (Must have made for one awkward birthday party.)

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a booming bass voice.
When he and Wallace co-starred in 'Stormswept,' publicity for the film called them 'The Two Greatest Character Actors on the American Screen.'
His son said, 'Dad was not an intimidating man -- except on screen.'
