The Resume

    (January 17, 1882-April 1, 1946)
    Born in Clay County, Missouri
Birth name was Noah Nicholas Beery
    Older brother of Wallace Beery
Appeared in the films 'The Squaw Man' (1918), 'The Mark of Zorro' (1920), 'Stormswept' (1923), 'Beau Geste' (1926), 'The Rough Riders' (1927), 'Noah's Ark' (1928), 'The Godless Girl' (1929), 'The Four Feathers' (1929), 'Riders of the Purple Sage' (1931), 'She Done Him Wrong' (1933), 'Zorro Rides Again' (1937), 'The Adventures of Red Ryder' (1940), 'Overland Mail' (1942) and 'This Man's Navy' (1945)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was typecast as villains.
His career began fading as his brother's took off, with Wallace becoming MGM's highest-paid star while he ended up working for poverty row studios Republic and Monogram.
He died in his brother's arms on his brother's birthday. (Must have made for one awkward birthday party.)

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a booming bass voice.
When he and Wallace co-starred in 'Stormswept,' publicity for the film called them 'The Two Greatest Character Actors on the American Screen.'
His son said, 'Dad was not an intimidating man -- except on screen.'
