He shot his free throws underhanded.

Former teammate Mike Dunleavy remarked, 'You could send him to the U.N., and he'd start World War III.'

He is the only player to lead the NCAA, NBA, and ABA in scoring.
He won both an ABA (1970) and NBA (1975) championship.
Despite his unusual 'granny' technique, he retired with the NBA's highest career free throw percentage.
