The Resume

    (1959- )
Root for their AFC team and original member of the American Football League as the New York Titans
Often dress or paint themselves in the team colors of Hunter Green and White
They don't have cheerleaders or a mascot, except for maybe Fireman Ed

Why he might be annoying:

Fireman Ed, wearing #42, sits atop his brother's shoulders and gets the crowd to chant 'J! E! T! S!, Jets! Jets! Jets!'
They always anticipate the worst, having an excuse for the team before a bad event occurs. They could often be heard referring to the team as 'the same old Jets.'
In the 1980's, the fans were relentless in trying to get Coach Joe Walton fired. They chanted at every game 'Joe Must Go!.'
At the NFL Draft each year, Jets fans in the crowd are often caught on camera reacting to the team's first round pick. The fans are either overly excited or just flat out disgusted. They think they are experts on the inexact science of the NFL Draft.
They watch a team, where all of it's home games are played out of state (in New Jersey).
They are the only team to play all their home games in a rival's arena (Giants Stadium).
Most of their Super Bowl pictures are in black and white.

Why he might not be annoying:

Some fans refer to their team as 'Gang Green,' or at one time 'The Sack Exchange.'
The fans were required to pay a $50 annual charge if they wished to remain on the season ticket waiting list (2003). Although some paid, most were irate and the Jets waived the fee (August 22, 2003).
Many of the team season ticket holders are New York Giants fans that cannot get Giants season tickets.
Their team underdog Super Bowl victory against the heavily favored Baltimore Colts, established the AFL as a genuine football league and made Joe Namath a household name.
Their fans got screwed out of seeing the ending of one of their televised games, when WNBC-TV decided it was more important to start the movie Heidi at it's scheduled time than airing the final minutes of the game. The game is still referred to as The Heidi Bowl.
