    She was a child prodigy, starring on her own radio show at age 11.
    She divorced her first husband after one year of marriage (1947-48).
    She appeared in 1945's 'Where Do We Go from Here?' with her nine years in the future husband.
    She was being groomed by 20th Century Fox Studio to become the next Betty Grable but stunned everyone by abruptly quitting the business in 1953.
    In February 1953, she joined a convent in Xavier, Kansas to become a nun, but September of the same year changed her mind and quit.
    For some reason, her last media appearance was in the 2001 TV event 'Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration.'

    At age seven, she played piano with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
    She had a velvety voice and sang in 10 of the 15 movies she acted in (yes, they were musicals).
    She was the star in 1948's 'Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay!' which was Marilyn Monroe's film debut.
    She was engaged to a studio dentist in 1952, but he died of complications from surgery before they could marry.
    She and MacMurray adopted twin daughters.
    She launched a second career as a successful interior decorator.
    She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
