She was accused of flip flopping on her support for Health Care reform.
She was defeated by Republican Cory Gardner in her first House term.
She openly refused to debate Gardner, which may have cost her votes.
Her loss led the Republican Party to label her 'Betsy Markey-Mezvinsky' (a reference to one-term Pennsylvania Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky).
Her getting ousted wasn't much of an inconvenience as she landed a job in the Obama administration immediately afterward.
She unsuccessfully ran for Colorado State Treasurer as the Democrat candidate in 2014.

She successfully ousted popular conservative Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave in 2008.
She dealt with angry town halls and even death threats over her voting to pass the Affordable Care Act in 2010.
