She's a one-hit wonder with 'Don't Leave Me This Way.'
When she won the 1977 Grammy for 'Best R&B Female Vocal Performance' she was at home, scrubbing her kitchen floor.
She said that it was hard for her to have another hit after her first one because a lot of people started hating disco and they assumed that she would only create disco music.

Although she is a one-hit wonder, she's still recording albums and has had minor hits since.
When she was growing up, she had troubled times and her mother had to pick cotton to support her and her three sisters.
She performed with Sammy Davis, Jr., The Temptations and the Four Tops.
She also had an acting career, appearing in movies and guest starring on TV series, game shows and comedy series.
She ranked #2 on VH1's 'Top 100 Greatest Dance Songs.'
Many people prefer her live performances because they say she has a lot of enthusiasm and energy.
