    Born in Australia
Religion of the aborigine peoples of Australia

Males must go through a ritual death and rebirth to advance spiritually.
Has many inter-tribal cults that are centered around a common totem

Why Aborigine Mythology might be annoying:

Its practitioners have a habit of spacing out and wandering off, known as going 'walkabout.'
They believe that the father contributes nothing biological to his children.
    It espouses reincarnation.
Lawbreakers of any type face the death penalty, although sometimes they are only killed ceremonially.
Their priests, aka Men of High Degree, practice telepathy and contacting the dead.
Many of the beliefs of its followers are very complex, multi-layered, and metaphysical making it hard to comprehend. One writer has compared it to quantum mechanics in its complexity.

Why Aborigine Mythology might not be annoying:

It has provided the native peoples of Australia with a great deal of comfort in the face of years of oppression from whites.
It's 'Men of High Degree' are highly skilled healers.
The consistency of belief in its followers for hundreds of years and the thousands of miles of Australia is extraordinary.
A spiritual connection to the land and co-operation with other tribes is emphasized in its spirituality.
Its rites are fascinating to observe and feature particularly complex burial rites sometimes including mummification.
Its followers are generally peaceful and don't fly airplanes into buildings or appear with bad haircuts on dumb and boring TV shows in the middle of the night.
