    He was drafted into the NHL at the age of 26 and didn't make his debut with the Rangers until he was 27.
    His tenure with the Canucks lasted only six games.
    His offensive prowess dropped off considerably following his Stanley Cup winning season.
    His career faded into obscurity following his trade from the Rangers.

    He was considered a standout player during his time with the Soviet Wings hockey team.
    He defied the odds and made the Rangers as a 12th round draft pick.
    He, along with Alexander Karpovtsev, Alexei Kovalev and Sergei Zubov were the first Russian born players to have their names engraved on the Stanley Cup.
    He was the second player in NHL history, after Pat Conacher to complete the Hudson River triple (play for the Rangers, Islanders and the Devils during his career).
    He played all but six of his NHL career games with all the New York metropolitan area based franchises.
    He earned his second Stanley Cup ring as a member of the Devils (2000).
