Why he might be annoying:

Despite promising the Texas faithful that he would finish his stint with the Longhorns, he eventually skipped his senior year to enter the 2006 NFL Draft.
He scored a 6 out of 50 on the Wonderlic Test, which some speculated would effect how high he would rank in the 2006 NFL Draft.
His nickname is his initials, 'V.Y.'
In 2003, his father went to prison on charges of burglary.

Why he might not be annoying:

He led the Longhorns to a victory over USC in the 2006 Rose Bowl, giving the football program their first national championship in 35 years.
He was the Rose Bowl MVP two years in a row (2005-06).
He has also won other sports awards, including the Maxwell Award and the Manning Award.
He overcame a near-fatal accident in 1990, in which a vehicle struck him as he was riding his bicycle; he attributes that incident to making him a stronger person.
