Why he might be annoying
He looks like the stereotypical pirate or Viking.
He was married on a sailboat in Tierra Verde, Florida.
Already he was looking forward to All-Star Pirate Master!
He drew curious comparisons to Rupert Boneham.
Even before he became captain, he made it his goal to cut Joe Don adrift (Azmyth did it in the seventh round).
At the Pirate’s Court where Kendra was eliminated, he confidently volunteered to go up against her (the decoy strategy, which, as Big Brother fans know, rarely works).
Why he might not be annoying
He has an extensive nautical background, from installing piers and bulkheads to fishing and scuba diving to owning a dock.
His dog is a mix of golden retriever, collie, and chow.
He applied for Survivor Fiji (‘I got thrown into the trash can’).
He received the first overall Pirate Master confessional.
No one complained about his work ethic (which influenced the unanimous decision to name him Captain in the fourth round).
Despite that decision, he recognized the pitfalls of captaincy.
He and Azmyth gave each other black spots in order to test their value as a captain.
Once he lost the captaincy, he was disinclined to continue his vendetta against Joe Don.
He was considered the ‘father’ of the ship to Joe Don’s ‘warrior.’
Regardless of whether his crew beat them or not, the return of the first seven eliminated players (the ‘ghost crew’) made him very happy.
Given the ratings and reviews Pirate Master received, he will not face the media overkill that plagued Rupert.
