Outlaw

The Resume

    (circa 1946-July 11, 2010)
Born in New York City, New York
    Career criminal
Known as the 'elevator bandit' for a series of holdups in apartment building elevators
Spent all but two months of 1974-2009 behind bars

Why he might be annoying:

His rap sheet featured 134 convictions.
He used the money from robberies to buy heroin and cocaine.
A year after being paroled, he went on a final multi-state crime spree, armed with a revolver, a cane and an oxygen tank.
During his last spree, he shot at (but missed) several people and tied up a hotel clerk and her 16-year-old daughter with duct tape.
He fled in his car from a Maryland state trooper, reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour, before running off the road, flipping over and being fatally thrown from the car.

Why he might not be annoying:

He got a 10-20 year sentence for his original Elevator Bandit crimes, with the judge noting he had not physically assaulted any of his victims.
    He started a prison ministry.
At his parole hearing, he said it would kill him if he committed any more crimes, which proved to be true.
