Why he might be annoying:

He was also drafted by the Houston Oilers during the 1966 AFL draft, which was the same year he was drafted by the Falcons in the NFL.
This debacle caused further debate, to the extent that Gemini 7 astronaut Frank Borman sent a message from space for Nobis to sign with the Oilers.
He played for a team that during its time was just in its beginnings.
He earned the dubious nickname 'Mr. Falcon' for being the first player ever on the Falcons roster.

Why he might not be annoying:

At Texas, he had an outstanding run as linebacker, including winning the Outland Trophy and Maxwell Award in 1965.
He made a crucial block against future Jets quarterback Joe Namath in a decisive 21-17 Texas victory over Alabama.
He holds the record for tackles in a rookie year with 294 (1966).
His number 60 was the first to be retired by the Falcons.
He is the founder and director of the Tommy Nobis Center, which helps with unemployment and children with disabilities.
He was named part of the NFL's 1960s All Decade Team.
