Why they might be annoying:

    Jamie Cook's nickname is ‘Cookie.'
They had the front man for We Are Scientists accept their Best British Band Award just to throw off the audience.
While performing on Saturday Night Live, someone in the audience yawned during their performance and Alex announced to the crowd, ‘That man just yawned!'
Jamie ruined a perfectly good guitar by throwing it at an amp on SNL.
The cover of ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That's what I'm not' features a man smoking.
There was a rumor that they did not write any of their own lyrics (although it was later proven false).
Matt Helders' nickname is ‘The Cat.'

Why they might not be annoying:

They emerged as an overnight sensation.
Their 2006 album, ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That's what I'm not,' was released one week earlier than it was planned due to high demand.
Their debut, ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That's what I'm not' is the fastest selling debut album in chart history.
Their first two singles went straight to #1 on the British charts.
For a long time, they didn't have a record label and they wouldn't let record executives into their concerts. They said ‘We've got this far without them - why should we let them in.'
The band's name comes from their guitarist, Jamie Cook's uncle's old band name.
Every member of the band has provided back up vocals.
