The Resume

    (May 30, 1961- )
    Born in Brooklyn, New York
Portrayed Michael Evans on Good Times
Appeared on Broadway in ‘The Me Nobody Knows’ (1970-71), ‘Dude’ (1972), ‘Via Galactica’ (1972), and ‘Raisin’ (1973-74)

Why he might be annoying:

Norman Lear had to buy out the remainder of his ‘Raisin’ contract to cast him in ‘Good Times.’
The producers thought he would be the breakout star of the show, not Jimmie ‘J.J.’ Walker.
During his stint on ‘Good Times,’ Mercury Records tried to market him as a teen singing idol, releasing the album ‘Young and in Love.’ (1976)
He was falsely rumored to have died of AIDS in the 1990s.

Why he might not be annoying:

He won a Drama Desk Award for Most Promising Newcomer (1973).
He wrote the play ‘Grandma’s Hands’ for the National Black Theatre Festival.
He said about the death rumors, ‘When people don’t have access to one’s personal life, they create things…. Therefore, I pay little attention to outrageous suggestions that I am a dead man.’
