His list of favorite authors includes several fantasy writers but omits 'Rings' author J. R. R. Tolkien.
He says he is not a vegetarian but claims, 'I lean in that direction.'
He promoted the first private printing of 'Eragon' by touring schools and libraries dressed in a medieval costume of lace up leather boots, black pantaloons, a billowy red shirt and a black beret.

He wrote 'Eragon' for his own pleasure without expecting it would be published.
He became a bestselling author at age 19.
He stays at book signings for four hours or more in order to meet all his fans.
