    Nephew of former Super Bowl-winning Defensive Coordinator Fritz Shurmur
    Tight ends coach at Michigan State University (1990-1997), Offensive line coach at Stanford University (1998), Tight ends coach for the Philadelphia Eagles (1999-2001)
    Quarterbacks coach for the Eagles (2002-2008)
    Offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams (2008-2010)
    Head coach of the Cleveland Browns(2011-2012)

Why he might be annoying:

    He mostly got his job with the Browns because his uncle worked for then-Browns President Mike Holmgren.
    He was almost universally disliked by all Browns fans.
    He posted a 9-23 record as a head coach.
    He usually had a befuddled or confused look on his face when things started falling apart during a game.
    His play-calling was often criticized by media and fans.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He spent seven years as coach of his alma mater (Michigan State).
    Despite his struggles as a coach, many still considered him to be a class act.
    He didn't have a lot of talent to work with in Cleveland.
    He was instrumental in the development of Sam Bradford.
    As a player at Michigan State, he was captain of his team during his senior year.
