    He initially got his start as a scriptwriter, before moving to songwriting.
    He was really mum in regards to disclosing his personal life.

    His songs were recorded by various artists ranging from Celine Dion to Barbra Streisand.
    He, along with René Angelil were credited with launching Celine Dion into stardom.
