Automaker

The Resume

    (August 10, 1963- )
    Born in Allerød, Denmark
Designed several luxury cars, including the BMW Z8, Aston Martin DB9 and Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Founder and CEO of Fisker Automotive (2007-13)
Designed the Fisker Karma as the first high-performance plug-in hybrid auto

Why he might be annoying:

He proved to be better at designing cars than running a company.
He subcontracted out much of the engineering work for the Karma without appointing anyone to make sure that components made by different companies would work together.
His company spent $100 million on parts that became obsolete when the Karma design was reengineered.
When Karmas started rolling off the assembly line (2011), many failed due to defective batteries.
A year later, the battery manufacturer went bankrupt, halting production of the Karma.
Fisker Automotive went bankrupt, having lost $1.4 billion of investors’ money (2013).

Why he might not be annoying:

Motor Trend described him as ‘movie star handsome.’
A BMW Z8 was James Bond’s car in ‘The World Is Not Enough.’
The V8 Vantage was named ‘coolest car of the year’ by Top Gear (2005).
The Fisker Karma at least looked great, winning a number of design awards.
He was named one of the 10 greatest car designers in automotive history by Goliath.com.
