He was once in a gang, and did time in juvenile hall.
He convinced Cody that Karla had a ‘Knowledge Is Power’ advantage, so Cody gave his immunity idol to Jesse for safekeeping.
He then blindsided a defenseless Cody at Tribal Council.
He was eliminated when he lost to Gabler in the Final Four fire-making challenge.

Why he might not be annoying:

He likes playing chess with his son.
He secretly received Jeanine’s idol from Dwight for safekeeping, after Dwight received it from Jeanine for the same reason.
That idol became his when Dwight was voted out (Jeanine, and everyone else, thought the idol was gone for good).
He wanted to win Survivor to help out his family.
He didn’t stand a chance in the fire-making playoff, for Gabler completed his fire in record time.
He got his Master’s and Doctorate degrees at Duke.
