    Featured high quality children's movies from around the world edited and dubbed for American audiences
    Hosted by Kukla, Fran, and Ollie aka ventriloquist Fran Allison and her puppet friends Kukla and Ollie (puppeteer Burr Tillstrom)
    Movies featured included; 'Egghead's Robot,' and 'The Johnstown Monster,' from Great Britain, the Oscar-winning 'The Red Balloon' from France and 'Skinny and Fatty' from Japan
    Won the 1968 Peabody Award for children's programming

Why CBS Children's Film Festival might be annoying:

    It was broadcast very irregularly its first few and last few seasons.
    For reasons unknown and incomprehensible, Kukla, Fran and Ollie were dropped in 1977 and it was renamed 'The CBS Saturday Film Festival.'
    It had a bad early Saturday afternoon time slot.
    Some of the movies had to be heavily edited to fit the one hour time slot.
    It ran a lot of repeats.

Why CBS Children's Film Festival might not be annoying:

    It is indisputably one of the best children's programs of all time.
    The movies were some of the best ever made for children and would have never been seen by American youth were it not for the show.
    The use of Kukla, Fran and Ollie as hosts was a masterstroke, keeping small children interested during commercial breaks, introducing 50's stars Burr Tillstrom and Fran Allison's gentle genius to a new generation of viewers and providing a personal touch to the whole show.
