Why Whose Line is it Anyway? (U.S.) might be annoying:

Originally Colin Mochrie and Greg Proops were seen as not good-looking enough to appear on the show and the host was going to be a former MTV VJ.
It seems less serious than the UK version as the cast periodically cracks up laughing at each other.
Drew Carey may be a weak host in that he allows scenes to drag on.
The show is frequently censored.
Wayne Brady' became a permanent third performer, hurting the variety of different cast members(1999).
For cost cutting they will cut a single taping into four mediocre episodes.
Airing two times a week risks overexposure.

Why Whose Line is it Anyway? (U.S.) might not be annoying:

Ryan Stiles single-handedly pitched the idea of the show to ABC. He convinced ABC to hire U.K. veterans Colin Mochrie and Greg Proops in the lineup.
There is better camaraderie among the US cast, they perform together frequently outside of the show.
The relationship between the cast and the host is much more in the spotlight, allowing for funny running gags and jokes at the expense of others.
They have a miniature band performing songs as opposed to just one musician.
Up and comers, like 'Wayne Brady, got their big break on the US version.
The success of the show has made improv popular again in the US.
