The Resume

    (July 8, 1918-March 13, 2015)
    Born in Manhattan, New York
    Comic book artist and cartoonist
Worked on comic books featuring the Green Hornet, Green Lantern, the Flash and the Justice Society of America
With Bill Finger created the character Wildcat
With Gus Edson, created the comic strip 'Dondi'

Why he might be annoying:

He covered the walls of his apartment with nude drawings of his girlfriends.
Before creating 'Dondi,' he drew a short-lived strip based on The Goldbergs.
As the 'Dondi' strip aged, the title character went from being a WWII orphan to a Korean War orphan to a Vietnam War orphan.
He had a cameo appearance in the critically derided 'Dondi' movie. ('It was a terrible experience for me.')

Why he might not be annoying:

He said his proudest achievement was managing the post newspaper at Fort Dix during World War II: 'I edited it, I published it, I took it to the printers, I learned how to set up type, I did the comic strip, I wrote the whole goddam thing.'
He joined the campaign to get Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster a pension, coining the slogan, 'Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a shame!'
He taught at the Joe Kubert School of Comic Art for over 30 years.
He was a colorful raconteur and popular guest at comic book conventions.
