Why he might be annoying:

Like Eric Gagne, his record streak was tainted by an all-star game.
He missed two field goal attempts in the Pro Bowl after his record-breaking season. The second one of would have sent the game into overtime.
He missed a field goal during his streak against Tampa Bay, but a penalty was called away from the ball that gave him another shot.
On a Canadian cable show, he lashed out at Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and coach Tony Dungy. He said that the Indianapolis Colts couldn't go far because they were not fiery enough. He added that he wasn't a 'big Indianapolis Colts fan right now.'
During the Pro Bowl, Manning responded to his comments by calling him an 'idiot kicker.'
His NFL field goal streak ended at 42 straight, He missed a crucial field goal that would tie a game against New England with seconds left (September 9, 2004).

Why he might not be annoying:

He set the NFL record at 42 straight field goals (December 22, 2002-September 9, 2004).
He is the fourth NFL kicker to have a perfect field goal season.
He eventually patched up his differences with Manning and Dungy.
His comments and his kicking helped motivate the Indianapolis Colts to the AFC Championship Game in 2004.
He is not afraid to speak his mind.
