The Resume

    (March 10, 1978-May 12, 1982)
    Originally aired on CBS
Bill Bixby as Dr. David Bruce Banner
Lou Ferrigno as The Incredible Hulk
    Jack Colvin as Jack McGee
    Narrated by Ted Cassidy
Based on the comic book character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
Premise: A scientist, becomes a bulky green superhero when he gets into a fit of rage

Why The Incredible Hulk might be annoying:

Much of the comic book story was altered for the TV series.
The producer changed Bruce Banner's name to David because he didn't like alliterative names.
He also thought the name 'Bruce' had homosexual connotations.
Though David was supposed to be hiding, he had non-creative aliases that started with 'David B.'
It had the goofy catchphrase, 'Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.'
It pissed off Steven Spielburg, since several scenes of one episode was lifted from his film 'Duel.'
Due to its quick cancellation by CBS, it never resolved whether David did find a cure for his condition.
What's with that piano music at the end of every episode?

Why The Incredible Hulk might not be annoying:

Unlike most superhero television series, it usually avoided the campy and instead had a high degree of realism.
The Hulk's shirt rips off during transformation, yet somehow his pants always stay on.
Jack McGee, the persistent reporter, was inspired by Inspector Javert from 'Les Miserables' and Lt. Gerald from 'The Fugitive.'
It reunited Bixby with previous co-stars by guest appearances of Ray Walston and Brandon Cruz.
It has a much larger cult following than Ang Lee's horrid 2003 film version of 'Hulk.'
Its 'Lonely Man' ending theme inspired many parodies and satires.
The rapper David Banner (born Levell Crump) took his stage name from the main character in the TV series. Legally, he can do this since Bruce Banner was copyrighted by Marvel Comics and the name David Banner was used for the TV show's purpose.
