The Resume

    (December 25, 1971- )
    Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Firstborn of Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Margaret Trudeau
Bachelor of Arts in literature at McGill University
Bachelor of Education at the University of British Columbia
Cameo as Talbot Mercier Papineau in the CBC miniseries The Great War (2007)
Member of the Canadian Parliament for Papineau riding of Montreal (elected October 2008)
Announced candidacy for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada (October 2, 2012)
Elected Prime Minister of Canada with a majority government (October 19, 2015)

Why he might be annoying:

He has to share a birthday with his two-years-younger brother.
At the tender age of ten, he got to see Brezhnev’s corpse up close.
He supported John Turner – destroyed in the previous election – in the 1988 federal election.
His rock-star veneer and massive Twitter following made him the early front-runner in the campaign to decide the Grits’ new leader (that and being some 20 years younger than his nearest opponent).
In a two-year-old French media interview surfacing in the November 2012 by-elections, he said, ‘Canada isn’t doing well right now because it’s Albertans who control our community and our socio-democratic agenda’ (referring to Stephen Harper’s location).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was born to an active Prime Minister, an achievement shared by two of his four siblings and preceded only by the youngest daughter of ‘Sir John A .’
He enjoyed camping with his father (‘a dad in the woods’).
He was a social studies and French teacher at two Vancouver schools.
Two years after his brother Michel died in an avalanche at 23, he spearheaded a winter sports safety campaign.
Citing the political dynasty into which he came, his mother went to great pains to discourage his foray into politics.
As there is a significant Haitian community in his electoral district, he was in the thick of a Canadian relief effort following the Haiti earthquake of 2010.
At least his children have pretty normal names; his daughter takes her middle name from his mother and his son takes his from his maternal father.
