He weighed 450 pounds.
He was expelled from 'Celebrity Fit Club' after he was caught binge eating (2002).
He was dropped from his record label after his debut album sold poorly.
He dyed his hair blue and purple.
He gave up singing after his fiancée made it a condition of their engagement (2007).
He said, 'The most demoralizing thing I've ever had to do was queue up at the job center and have people look at me, saying 'What a failure!''

He was bullied in school because of his size.
He made the final ten despite Simon Cowell telling him he was 'too fat to be an idol.'
He noted about press coverage of his weight, 'Some of the things said about me are horrendous. If it was done to a black guy that would be racism, if it was done to a woman it would be sexism, but because I'm fat I'm a fair target.'
He did not completely leave the music biz: he runs a mobile karaoke business with his father.
