The Resume

    (1961- )
Mountain resort city in Sevier County, Tennessee
    Population: 6,343 (2020)
Home to Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country
Motto: 'The Center of Fun In The Smokies'

Why Pigeon Forge, Tennessee might be annoying:

    It attracts Dolly Parton fanatics.
It remained a dry jurisdiction outlawing the sale of liquor until 2013.
The commercial boom it received from the Dollywood Park drove up property taxes, forcing some farmers to sell their land as a result.
The cost of living has also risen exponentially, but is difficult to offset with the low wage jobs that accompany the tourist industry.
It's the setting of a cheesy Hallmark movie: Christmas at Dollywood.
It's sometimes billed as Dolly Parton's hometown - and while it 'kinda sorta maybe' is - not really either (it's pretty much settled that her hometown is Sevierville, Tennessee).

Why Pigeon Forge, Tennessee might not be annoying:

It was badly affected by the 2016 Great Smoky Mountains wildfires.
It is only a few miles away from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
Its theme park is way cooler than Disneyworld.
It draws over 11 million visitors and tourists annually.
It was named after the nearby Pigeon River, which itself was so named because it was once frequented by flocks of the now-extinct Passenger Pigeons.
It is home to one of only two Titanic museums in the United States.
Dolly Parton makes appearances at the Dollywood parks every year.
The Historic Old Mill, sometimes called the Pigeon Forge Mill, is on the National Register of Historic Places.
