Comedian

The Resume

    (April 5, 1956-April 28, 2021)
    Born in Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain
Birth name was Juan Joya Borja
Nickname is based on the Spanish word for ‘giggles’
    AKA Spanish Laughing Guy
Laughing meme based on an appearance on ‘Ratones coloraos’ (‘colored mice,’ 2007)
Died in Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain, due to medical complications, some three weeks after his 65th birthday

Why he might be annoying:

Uh, shouldn’t that be ‘las risitas’ or ‘la risita’?
He only made his first TV appearance around his mid 40s, on ‘El vagamundo,’ hosted by Jesus Quintero (2000).
His high-pitched wheezing laugh drew comparisons to a chain-smoking dolphin.
Not that his teeth were much better.
While being treated for cardiovascular complications (2020), his leg had to be amputated; he died shortly after a hospital transfer.

Why he might not be annoying:

It wasn’t uncommon to see him in an off-white panama.
While recounting a day at a restaurant kitchen – where several paella dishes thrown into the ocean disappeared the next day – he (and eventually host Qunitero) burst into uncontrolled laughter.
Not only would that interview inspire parodies worthy of Downfall, his likeness would become an emoticon on Twitch (a game-streaming platform).
He had a cameo in ‘Torrente 3: El protector (2005),’ his only film appearance.
A native Spanish-speaker (particularly Euro-Spanish) will have little trouble getting serious details on his life.
