Why Deadwood (TV) might be annoying:

Newsday's Verne Gay wrote 'Deadwood' was incomprehensible last season. It is incomprehensible this season.'
Jeffrey Jones and Gerald McRaney are referred to as guest stars despite being on for full seasons.
The show is full of profanity, to a point at which it is a distraction.
According to IMDB 'The word 'fuck' and its derivatives are used 2,980 times throughout the series.'
The series only lasted 36 episodes.
HBO dropped the series after three seasons but promised two movies to conclude the stories.
The series has a number of anachronisms and historical flaws.
The series centers on corruption - politics as usual.

Why Deadwood (TV) might not be annoying:

It demonstrates how out of lawless chaos, calm and compromise are found.
David Bianculli of the New York Daily News raved 'Everything in 'Deadwood' is good as gold.'
Seattle Post-Intelligencer's Melanie McFarland wrote 'To call 'Deadwood' great television doesn't begin to do it justice.'
The character name Whitney Ellsworth is named as a tribute to the producer of the 1950's TV 'Adventures of Superman.'
The series was a rare successful western in the 2000s.
