The Resume

    (June 13, 1940-January 28, 2017)
    Born in Alameda County, California
Recorded the singles ‘Do You Want to Dance?’ (1958), ‘Betty Lou’s Got a New Pair of Shoes’ (1958), ‘Shimmy Shimmy’ (1960), ‘C’mon and Swim’ (1964) and ‘S-W-I-M’ (1964)

Why he might be annoying:

He was a member of a couple of unsuccessful doo-wop groups as a teen.
A false rumor claimed that Jerry Garcia played the guitar on ‘Do You Want to Dance.’
After the success of ‘C’mon and Swim,’ his former record label tried to cash in by releasing his older songs as an album titled ‘Get in the Swim with Bobby Freeman.’

Why he might not be annoying:

‘Do You Want to Dance,’ which he wrote, gave him a top five hit on Billboard’s pop and R&B charts at age 17.
‘Do You Want to Dance’ was covered by acts ranging from the Beach Boys to Bette Midler to the Ramones.
’C’mon and Swim’ was one of the first records produced by Sylvester Stewart, who later became famous as Sly Stone.
